Senior Moderator Profiles

Carrie Yuan (Senior Moderator) - Shanghai

Carrie has over 10 years of qualitative consumer and business-to-business research experience in China. She has moderated over 1,000 focus groups across a wide range of categories in multiple markets around China.

Carrie started her career as a qualitative researcher with Synovate (previously AMI). After four years, she joined a 4A advertising company and was responsible for both internal and external research projects. She is highly experienced in the use of various projective techniques and plays a key role in all aspects of each project, including report writing and final presentations. Carrie is a native Mandarin and Shanghai dialect speaker, and speaks fluent English.

Industry experience: soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, FMCG, retail, healthcare, finance, insurance, mobile phone and electronics.

Ivy Wang (Senior Moderator) - Shanghai

Ivy has more than three years’ experience in qualitative research, and she has moderated over 100 focus groups and 50 in-depth interviews. With her advanced qualitative skills, she is able to extract deep insights from discussions, and her performance has won praise from many clients.

She was the lead field researcher on the Focus Group China and DDMA report into Chinese consumer online purchase behavior. Her client experience includes Transitions Optical, Jack Daniels, Jiannanchun and BNP Paribas.

Ye Yang (Senior Moderator) - Beijing

Yang Ye has conducted over 400 focus groups across multiple product categories over the past six years. She holds a Master in Communication Sciences, and has played a key role in training junior moderators as well as managing a selection of quantitative projects.

Industry experience: Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Sony, Honda, Toyota, Bentley, Porsche, Intel, Henkel, Suntory, GM, Coca Cola, HP, Microsoft, Panasonic, Nokia, Unilever, P&G and Kirin.

Henry Wang (Senior Moderator) - Guangzhou

Henry is from Guangzhou, and has over 13 years of market research experience in both qualitative and quantitative research. Henry started his career with Synovate (previously AMI) as a researcher and was promoted through to Projector Director. He has rich qualitative market research experience covering a wide range of industries. Henry also has wide experience in packaging testing, brand positioning and brand image studies, advertising testing and mystery shopping. He is a native Mandarin and Cantonese speaker.

Industry experience: FMCG, automotive, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, household products and personal care, and retail.

Fred Yan (Senior Moderator) - Chongqing

Fred Yan has more than 10 years’ experience in qualitative projects program design, data analysis and report writing. He has extensive experience, having conducted focus groups for many well-known companies.

Industry experience: FMCG, real estate, automotive, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

Dejun Liu (Senior Moderator) - Hangzhou

Dejun Liu has more than 10 years of qualitative research experience. As the general manager of our Hangzhou office, he is responsible for coordinating all market research studies in the market. He has a wealth of quantitative and qualitative market research experience covering many industries. He is experienced in product concept, advertising and price testing.

Industry experience: FMCG, automobile, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, healthcare, finance and retail.
